Ambers Go Down Fighting at Thurrock!

09 Mar 2016

Cheshunt lost by one goal to nil in a closely fought out match away to Thurrock but were very unlucky not to get something from a spirited display.

Cheshunt were behind in the first half and were under pressure at times and were grateful to goalkeeper James 'Percy' May who pulled off some fine saves during the match.

Despite periods of good pressure they couldn't break through the stubborn Thurrock defence but they came closest when hitting the bar and were unlucky not to score from other chances.

So in the end disappointment for the Ambers but with Phoenix Sports next up at Theobalds Lane there's no time to ponder this defeat. As manager Paul Wickenden commented ' of course we are disappointed but we have been on a great run and we want to get back to winning ways and so we will now focus on our next game against Phoenix Sports'.
