TEN MAN CHESHUNT EARN A HARD FOUGHT FOR POINT IN THRILLER

03 Mar 2016

This was probably the match that had a little bit of everything; there was quality, determination and huge drama; although for Cheshunt at least two pieces of that helping of drama would have been refused.

The game sprung controversially into life with a fifth minute sending off when Joe Kizzi reacted to being hauled over the touchline by the Brightlingsea winger. The referee saw the offence as a straight red card and JK was despatched unceremoniously from proceedings. No action though was taken against the perpetrator of the incident much to the disappointment of the watching Cheshunt fans.

Cheshunt though responded quickly with a goal from Adam Bolle, only for Regent to grab an equaliser right on half time.

As both sides competed hard in the second half Cheshunt gave a debut to John Frendo who rewarded them with a headed goal on 87 minutes to put Cheshunt 2-1 in front. With three points seemingly in the back the Cheshunt team were hanging on for the final whistle when disaster and regent equalised in the very last minute.

It was accrual end to a hard game for the Ambers who surely deserved something for battling on for 85 minutes with only ten men.

In the end unlucky and hopefully some vital lessons learnt.
