On a freezing cold night, Cheshunt progressed to the quarter finals of this seasons Hertfordshire Senior Challenge Cup, thanks to a solitary Mo Camara goal in the 48th minute,

Baldock Town, who play in the Premier Division of the Spartan South Midland League, started the match the same way as they finished their last HSC match, an outstanding second half against St Margaretsbury when they were 4-0 down, getting back to 4-4, and then winning the penalty shoot out 6-7, by taking the match to The Ambers.

The visitors defence was more than a match for the Cheshunt forward line, as the few chances The Ambers had from Mo and debutant Seyami-Ololade were kept out by Davis Boateng in the Baldock goal.

The more the match went on, the more it looked like it was going to be a draw, as both sides fought a midfield battle where no one seemed to get on top.

As the second half started there was a blocked clearance by Mo in the 48th minute which went past the Baldock keeper for 1-0.

The Ambers goal brought forth a barrage of chances from Baldock, who looked the better of the two sides for much of the second half, but an excellent night from both the ‘keepers kept the score low on the night. Not a classic match, but it did see The Ambers through to face either our FA Trophy 1st round opponents Berkhamsted FC or Hemel Hempstead Town at The Stadium sometime in the new year.
