Peterborough Sports come into the match unbeaten in four, with two wins & two draws in recent games. They currently sit 9th in the Vanarama National League North, a good start from a team that won promotion from step 3 via the play off system, the same as Cheshunt.

Jordan Nicholson & Mark Jones are the Peterborough marksmen with 6 & 7 goals respectively, and Isaiah Bazeley the man to watch for action with 4 yellow & a red from just 9 starts.

For Cheshunt, expect manager Craig Edwards to make changes, some forced & some as opportunities for squad players,  as keeper Joe Rose is still out & Preston Edwards sits this one out on the recommendation of the medical team after a heavy collision at Taunton. Outfield players on the physio board range from hamstring pulls to rehab after surgery and everything in between, adding to the list was double bad luck for new signing Josh Shonibare as the challenge at Taunton we all thought was a penalty wasn’t given , and has also side lined him for two weeks, ( considered a footballing coming together by some….. Bah!)

The Ambers form doesn’t appear to tell the whole story, two good wins, one on the road &  a second half come back from two down at home and a day to write off at Eastbourne are sandwiched between defeats by the odd goal, a situation manager Edwards is keen to improve. it’s notable the Ambers have not drawn a single competitive match this season, could this be the one?

Craig does enjoy a cup match, and with the Isuzu FA Trophy on Saturday & then a trip to St Albans for the Herts FA Senior Cup on Tuesday occupying his thoughts, we can look forward to a team that will be eager to retain their place and work for ninety plus minutes. We all enjoyed the distraction of the Trophy run last year (and appearing in @TrophyHound’s book for three successive chapters) Can we look forward to more?

The bus leaves at 11, the match kicks off at 3pm.  Peterborough Sports is a short ride up the A1  and can be found at:
