Manager Craig Edwards has moved quickly to add to his squad with a known marksman Ken Charles. Earlier this season Charles scored five goals in six appearances for the Ambers while on loan. Negotiations this week & some late nights going through contract small print clauses have enabled the transfer for an undisclosed fee to take place and Charles be registered with the National League and FA in time for today’s match. Our thanks to the King’s Lynn Town admin team for their assistance in moving documents between clubs for revision & signatures enabling us to record the transfer in time for today.
Charles made fifteen appearances in the Isthmian Premier for Cheshunt scoring seven times at the beginning of season 2021-22, before making the move to National League South team King’s Lynn Town on a full time basis. Opportunities at The Linnets have proved sporadic & the chance to be training & playing closer to home at a club where he has enjoyed success, for a manager he has worked with before, with players whose games he knows well and of course with supporters who will sing his name was not to be missed.
Welcome back to the Ambers Ken ! we haven’t moved the goals since you were here last, so we all look forward to seeing you find the net & celebrating some more, this afternoon would be a good time to start….
