A cagey opening came to life on the half hour mark , when Cheshunt failed to clear convincingly & James Morton fired just wide for Bath, followed by another home team defensive error putting Scott Wilson through with only the keeper to beat,  Cheshunt stopper Adam Desbois stuck out a big paw & stopped the ball & striker in his tracks to rescue his defence. Cheshunt striker Ken Charles took the game by the scruff of the neck cutting in from the left , beating three players in the box & slotting home at the near post. Charles was instrumental in setting up Zech Obiero, who nearly doubled the home team lead with a carefully placed shot, only to see it rebound off the far post  along the line & be cleared.

The early exchanges in the second half saw Bath City press hard & from a long ball forward Cheshunt tried to see the ball out for a goal kick , but were robbed on the line & a pass inside left Scott Wilson with an easy pass into the net for the equaliser.  With nothing less than three points needed, Cheshunt upped their game, Lewis Hobbs drew a point blank save from Max Harris when he volleyed an Obiero cross goal bound, and the returning Joe Re saw a shot rise just over, Cheshunt’s Raul Da Silva turned on a clearance from a corner & hooked a shot onto the Bath bar, and the pressure applied bought a free kick that Ken Charles came close to converting. A slick move on the left released Charles again who played in Obiero whose fast feet bought him time to pick his spot and restore the home team lead.  Cheshunt had the match under control & Taylor Mackenzie marshalled the back line to keep Bath at bay, The final action saw Cheshunt throw away a chance to put the game to bed, Manny Maja screwing an open goal wide, and Zack Newton seeing a rasping shot well saved.

The fate of the Ambers moves onto the penultimate match, while Bath City ride home defeated but safe in mid table.
