Cheshunt Football Club has released a comprehensive report detailing the club’s remarkable social and economic contributions to the local community. The report, conducted in collaboration with The FA and Portas Consulting, reveals that Cheshunt FC generates an annual value of £2.6 million by fostering health, well-being, and social cohesion for over 17,600 people through its football and community programmes.
The data, gathered from reputable sources including the FA, Sport England, the Office for National Statistics (ONS), and the NHS, underscores the positive impact the club has on reducing antisocial behaviour, improving mental and physical health, and providing a safe, inclusive space for all.
Through the club’s commitment to community engagement, Cheshunt FC offers a wide range of programmes that benefit players of all ages and abilities. These initiatives not only create lasting friendships and life skills but also provide measurable health and social benefits, helping reduce youth crime and improve educational outcomes.
“We are thrilled to share these results, which reinforce what we’ve known all along – that Cheshunt FC is more than just a football club. It is a cornerstone of the community,” said Dean Williamson, Chairman of Cheshunt FC. “We are committed to continuing this positive impact and are working towards the development of new, state-of-the-art facilities that will allow us to reach even more people and provide further opportunities for social interaction, education, and personal growth.”
The club is actively seeking support from local officials and stakeholders to secure new facilities at Cheshunt Sports Village, which will enable Cheshunt FC to expand its impact even further. The findings of the report serve as compelling evidence of the club’s value to the community and its potential to grow.
Cheshunt FC would like to extend its heartfelt thanks to the volunteers, staff, supporters, players, and local partners who make this work possible.
