Cheshunt will review the statistics of this match and wonder how they didn’t take all three points, a first half where the home side repeatedly broke the visitors defensive lines and had on target attempts saved by Shaun Rowley in the Millers goal, was followed by a second half where the visitors got back into the game with their direct play, but again Cheshunt’s passing & movement saw further attempts foiled.
Cray Valley opened the match with a series of long throws and corners that were managed well by the home defence. Cheshunt settled and their passing game saw Antonis Vasiliou get two chances, he turned provider for the opening goal when smart work from Sam Granville & Vasiliou found  Matthias Fanimo with his back to goal & and a defender on the penalty spot, fast feet & a smart turn & shot wrong footed the keeper for the lead.  Sam Granville had two on target headers saved and the Ambers went to the break with only one goal to show for their efforts
The second half saw the Millers more effective in defence and quicker to pump the ball into the final third to compete for possession. Dan Ajakaiye had been the pick of their attack so far & it was he who rattled the post with a shot, and followed up the rebound to snatch the equaliser.
Both teams sought to win the game but defences stood firm in the latter stages to share the points
