Luke Presland of UCFB reports;
The Ambers took an early-lead through George Hunt who converted from the centre of the box past Charlie Grainger. However, the visitors began to grow into the game as Bradley Roberts denied the visitors on the line, following an initial effort by Gianluca Botti that was saved by goalkeeper Preston Edwards. The Cheshunt keeper was forced into action again not long after, denying Captain Ryan Lowe.
Camilo Restrepo rattled the Cheshunt crossbar before Wingate & Finchley finally capitalised on their first-half domination, the equaliser scored by striker Gianluca Botti from close-range following work down the right-hand side just before the half-time whistle.
Not long after the match resumed, Wingate took a much deserved lead as McGettigan got his name on the scoresheet with a devastating run and tidy finish past Edwards who had little chance of stopping it. McGettigan and Botti continued to link up throughout, warning Cheshunt of what would soon follow. A clinical finish from Botti gave him his brace on the day after a perfect pass through by the instrumental Mcgettigan.
Botti soon after missed a simple chance to secure his hat-trick and put the result beyond any doubt.

A headed goal by Dequane Wilson-Braithwaite in the dying moments wasn’t enough for the hosts to secure anything from the game, a thoroughly deserved win for the visitors.
Cheshunt’s unbeaten run at home in the league came to an end, a disappointing day at the office for Mel Gwinnett and his side. The teams meet again at Theobalds Lane next Saturday in the FA Trophy, and the Ambers will want to put this result behind them, and reverse the result to progress to the second round.
