Match Report by Luke Presland.
The hosts edge out Wingate & Finchley via a close-range George Nunn goal to progress to the Isuzu FA Trophy Second Round.
Cheshunt began the game in much similar fashion to last week creating a couple of early half-chances, nothing that forced Charlie Grainger into real action, up until Charlie Naylor tested Grainger from close-range but the Wingate keeper was more than equal to it.

On the break-away, Caolian McGettigan blasted over from just inside the box set up by Ada Okorogheye, a chance he usually would’ve tucked away. Not long after, Cheshunt were lucky not to go behind as Wingate & Finchley struck the post.
A driving run from Matthias Fanimo down the right-hand side skipping past Stallard put it on a plate for George Nunn who simply could not miss, in the right-place at the right-time to give Cheshunt the lead and break the deadlock.
Wingate started the second-half the better side, forcing corners and pressuring the hosts. Wingate skipper Lowe went close from just outside the box, a powerful effort that narrowly went past the post. Keller wasn’t a million miles away with a speculative effort that sailed over the bar from close range for the hosts.

A flurry of Wingate corners saw Akinola’s powerful header denied on the line. Substitute Kurran-Browne’s cross took a wicked deflection forcing Azaze into action for Cheshunt before McGettigan nearly got on the end of another Wingate & Finchley delivery.
Wingate rued their missed chances, knocked out despite controlling the game.
