Cheshunt F.C. 3-3 Dartford FC
Those that made it along to the stadium last night were treated to an end to end goal fest and a night of great entertainment. The Ambers without a single starter from Saturday in their squad took on a very strong Dartford side fresh from their 3-1 win at St.Albans on Saturday.
Dartford rattled the Ambers woodwork twice in the opening ten minutes to serve warning of their intent, but as the mix of trialists & current squad settled then the home defence became more organised, and Cheshunt could start to build attacks of their own. The 0-0 scoreline at half time didn’t reflect on the quality of the game and as could have been predicted a barrage of goals came along in a breathtaking 2nd period. George Porter opened the scoring for the visitors on 52 minutes after a fine cross from Bagasan Graham.
Cheshunt stormed back and equalised with a rare Zack Newton headed goal at the far post when Dartford failed to deal with a right wing cross.
A good advantage from the referee allowed Ash Nzala to latch onto a through ball from substitute Zubayr Bodie and lift it calmly over the advancing keeper to give the Ambers the lead. Sub Albie Hall looked to have wrapped up the game when he coolly slotted home the 3rd in the 77th minute after a sublime pass with the outside of the right foot from midfielder Bodie.
Howeve the ever predatory Jake Robinson looked to have given the visitors a late consolation goal with 2 minutes to go, and then some naive defending led Dartford getting a run in on goal and a free kick conceded on the edge of the area. Dartford substitute Jack Jebb stepped up to score an equaliser direct, with literally the last kick of the game.
A great game of football, some good performances & plenty to review on the video.
