After a fantastic week for The Ambers, winning 1-0 at home in the Bank Holiday Herts Derby v Bishop’s Stortford, which guaranteed fifth place in the league and thus qualifying for this seasons play-offs, and then winning 2-0 v Hadley in the final of the Herts Senior Cup on Wednesday, it’s back to league action on St Georges Day, when The Ambers travel to Surrey to face Corinthian-Casuals in the last league fixture of the season.
The Casuals come into the match after a mixed Bank Holiday, losing 0-3 at home to Horsham on Saturday, and then winning 2-1 away to Carshalton Athletic on the Monday.
This will be the third time that the two sides have faced each other this season, our first meeting was on Saturday 30th October, when The Ambers visited Tolworth and a 1-0 victory in the Third Qualifying Round of the FA Trophy. A Zac Newton goal in the 47th minute was enough to send The Ambers into the next round.
The second match was the reverse Isthmian League fixture on Saturday 11th December and a comprehensive win for us as a Rowan Liburd hat-trick and a goal each for Reece Beckles-Richards and Taylor Miles saw The Ambers run off with a 5-1 victory.
