Will Seager scores for Worthing on Non League Day at Theobalds Lane. Let’s hope he can do it a few more times, especially now he’s an Amber! Will played as a youngster at Kingstonian under manager Craig Edwards, showing a lot of potential. Craig was impressed with Will when the Ambers squeezed a win at struggling Leatherhead where he made over 100 appearances before joining Premier Division Champions Worthing at the beginning of last season.
Craig Edwards moved quickly to secure the signing of Wyan Reid, a right sided player with National League South experience in the Concord Rangers squad that made the FA trophy final last season. Wyan came through the Academy at Aveley FC, impressing for the reserves in his first senior season and progressing to the first team where he secured a starting position making 56 appearances before stepping up to the National League South with Concord. Wyan finished last season in the Isthmian Premier with Brightlingsea Regent making 11 appearances , and was in the Regent squad when Cheshunt visited the Taydal Stadium in March.
Joe Payne is a local known to many of the Cheshunt Youth section managers, when he was clearly a cut above when playing for Wormley FC against Cheshunt from the age of 8 onwards, before being recruited into the Barnet FC academy at 11 years old. Joe’s progress at Barnet saw him make a first team debut at 17, and score a goal against Enfield Town from the half way line in a Middlesex FA Cup tie. Joe is a player that manager Craig Edwards has admired for some time & kept tabs on his progress as he gained senior experience on a series of loan arrangements from Barnet that saw him represent Grays, Wealdstone, Solihull Moors, & Enfield Town. He moved to Concord Rangers last season, making his debut in the delayed FA Trophy final v Harrogate Town and securing a start position for the season.
Another familiar face from last season, and another player Craig Edwards has tracked for some time, Dajon Golding joins Cheshunt FC for the coming season having played at Worthing FC last season. Dajon started his career via the Dartford academy, but really stood out in the Lewes and Worthing teams in the Isthmian Premier League. A strong, fast and versatile attacking player, Dajon can play across all of the forward areas & will be a great asset to Cheshunt FC.
Finally, a player that manager Craig Edwards has looked to sign previously, Brandon Adams played last season at Royston Town in the Southern Premier league finishing 4th in the goalscoring charts with 18 league goals . Brandon learnt his trade with QPR , and is now a proven goalscorer. Brandon scored 33 goals in 35 matches in a season at Ware, and also spent time with local rivals Enfield Town before making the move to Royston.
Welcome to all five new Ambers, we look forward to seeing you all in action during pre season, and of course all five join the squad from last season in being available to sponsor for the season.
