A dour first half with few chances had everything happen in the last ten minutes, Cheshunt lost Isiah Noel Williams & Taylor McKenzie to injury, then lost Nathaniel Orafu to a red card after he was caught on the ball, pulled at his opponent & was deemed the last man.  Jack Evans beat the wall & a diving Joe Rose to open the scoring for Chatham from the resulting free kick.
Ten Man Cheshunt then took the game to Chatham for the entire second half, with Chatham having little response, their only plan appearing to be get the ball to Jamie Yila as quick as possible.  Cheshunt went two down when a Chatham corner was met by Yila with a powerful far post header against the run of play. Finlay Titchmarsh & Jamie Reynolds combined well on the Cheshunt right to deliver multiple balls into the box, Cheshunt’s reward came from the left when Bobby Unwin crossed & George Morrall stretched to steer home.

With twenty to go Cheshunt camped in the away half, Jimmy Wallace hit the bar with a close range header, Morrall went close with shots, & Unwin clipped the top netting from wide on several occasions.  A great effort from ten men just falling short.

*Despite needing to leave the pitch in the first half due to injury, both Isiah Noel Williams & Taylor McKenzie received treatment and are expected to make quick recoveries.
