Hallett sweeps awards

06 Jun 2017

As the season drew to a close the players got a chance to let off steam and in a night of high jinks at the traditional awards ceremony. The only award missing was that of the best singer, fair to say the competition would have been fierce.

Jason Hallett did extremely well and in a clean sweep carried of the Players Player of the Year Award, Supporters Player of Year Award, Manager’s Player’s of the Year Award and the Committees Player of the Year Award; not too bad for a player who played throughout most of the season with a serious knee injury

In true tradition Cheshunt FC style, the event was a worthy affair, although worthy of what is yet to be decided given the questionable singing contributions of players, players wives and committee members.

Hogging the limelight were the usual suspects in Jason Hallett, Dave Kendell, Tony Madden and Paul Fletcher all of whom contributed their stock favourites in true music hall style. However, it was the wife of one Mr Hope who stole the show and we are hoping (excuse the overuse of hope!) that she will agree terms for a performance at the club ball in June!

Just remember folks you only have one year to wait for the show to run again although it is rumoured that an early season event will be taking place at a clubhouse near you soon!

We are also reliably informed that Harvey Goldsmith is currently in negotiation for club owner Lee Williamson to record and then perform at the last home match of season the old Kinks classic ‘Waterloo Sunset’. Now isn’t that something to look forward to!
