The Dream Is Over For Another Season.

After Saturday’s exciting 2-2 draw, The Ambers made the long trip into Suffolk on Tuesday night for the FA Cup 1st Qualifying round replay.

With the match delayed for 20 minutes, due to the the need of the pitch needing to be marked out, the non-stop rain having washed away all the white lines, on an otherwise perfect looking pitch,  The Ambers got off to the worse start possible, with Cemal Ramadan scoring for The Blues after only 4 minutes, and with Christy Finch getting a second from the penalty spot on 40 minutes, things were not looking too great at half time.

But as they say, it is a game of two halves, and The Ambers came out looking the much stronger side.

Ricky Sappleton replaced Nathan Koranteng at half time and quickly reduced the arrears scoring a penalty on 57 minutes.

Three minutes later, just as Leiston had on Saturday, The visitors had come back from 2-0 down to level at 2-2 with a second goal from Ricky Sappleton.

Leiston continued to press and on 66 minutes Jake Reed put Leiston in front again.

With both teams pressing forward, both Harry Girling in The Ambers goal and Marcus Garnham in The Blues goal made some fantastic saves to keep the scoring low.

However it was Leiston who put the tie beyond doubt when Matt Blake scored in the 89th minute and a place in the 2nd Qualifying round against Hastings United was theirs.

Another thoroughly entertaining match and we wish Leiston all the best for the remainder of the season.

Back to league action on Saturday, and a visit to The Stadium by South Park. K.O.3pm.
