STORTFORD VISIT FOR DERBY DAY AT THE LANE.
Cheshunt will be looking to continue their recent resurgence this weekend as Bishop’s Stortford make the short trip down to Theobalds Lane.
Craig Edward’s side will be seeking revenge on their Hertfordshire rivals, who ran out 3-2 winners at Woodside Park back in August.
The Ambers will be hoping to have put a run of eight consecutive league defeats behind them, having gone unbeaten in the last two games with a victory over Merstham (3-0) and draw away to Brightlingsea Regent (1-1).
That said, Cheshunt remain in a scrap towards the bottom of the table as they sit 18th in the division on 14 points, however 10 of those 14 points have come in the 10 games at home.
Taylor McKenzie joins Fabion Simms, Ashley Nzala and Shane Cojocarel on the treatment table after picking up an injury in the draw with Brightlingsea, whilst Zack Newton, Ibrahim Diallo and Ola Williams will all miss out through suspension.
On a positive note, Bobby Mills is set to return from injury, Joe Re returns from suspension, and new signings Jamie Reynolds and Johan Becka could make their debut.
Ahead of the game, Cheshunt Manager Craig Edwards said: “We’ll regroup, we’ll learn our lessons from today (The draw with Brightlingsea) and hopefully we’ll go on and put in a performance like we did against Merstham and we can get three points.”
Bishop’s Stortford have won just two of their last 11 games in all competitions, however will head into the game full of confidence after a 93rd minute penalty from Jamie Cureton saw Stortford defeat East Thurrock United 1-0 last time out.
The Blues have moved to bolster their squad in December, signing Jayden Sweeney on loan from Leyton Orient, and former Cheshunt midfielder Jordan Westcott. They have no apparent injury concerns.
Saturday’s game takes place at the Stadium, Theobalds Lane, postcode EN8 8RU. Kick-off is 3pm, and admission prices are just £10 adults, £5 concessions and £1 U16s. COYAMBERS.
