THE ISTHMIAN LEAGUE SOUTH CENTRAL DIVISION PLAY-OFF FINAL.
Cheshunt FC travel to Bracknell Town with promotion on the line in the Bostik South Central Division Playoff Final.
Cheshunt have taken four points from Bracknell Town this season, winning 2-0 at Theobalds Lane before drawing 1-1 in the reverse fixture.
Craig Edwards’ side head into this game 11 games unbeaten in the league, with just one defeat in that time, to Boreham Wood in the Hertfordshire Senior Challenge Cup semi-final.
The Ambers have won their last four games, including two against fellow top five sides, with victories over Northwood (3-0), Hertford Town (5-1), Westfield (3-0) and Marlow (2-1).
Connor Hogan is unavailable for Cheshunt, who could name an unchanged squad from Tuesday’s victory over Marlow.
Ahead of the game, Cheshunt Manager Craig Edwards said: “We go in very confident; we haven’t been beaten on a 3G surface this season, and we’ve had two cracking games with Bracknell.
“I expect another tough, good game but one that we have no reason to fear going into and it’s winner takes all now, the good thing is that either side that wins gets promoted.
“Second versus third, one point between us in the league, two tight games that we’ve got the better of, it’ll be a tough game, but as the old saying goes, may the best team win.”
Bracknell Town have lost just one of their previous five games ahead of the playoff final, a 2-1 defeat away to Egham Town.
In that run the Robins have defeated Marlow (1-0), Ware (3-2), Northwood (3-0), and most recently Westfield (2-1).
Geoff Warner’s side haven’t lost a game at home in the league all season, with 47 of their 77 points coming at Larges Lane, whilst they also broke the 100-goal barrier, with 102 goals in their 38 games.
However, Cheshunt will still be confident as only Hayes and Yeading have a better away record, and Bracknell were only able to score once in two games against the Ambers.
Bracknell have no apparent injury concerns.
Saturday’s game takes place at Larges Lane, postcode RG12 9AN. Kick-off is 3pm and admission prices are £10 adults and £5 concessions. Come on you Ambers.
