MATCH PREVIEW: CHESHUNT FC V BRENTWOOD TOWN FC

29 Oct 2018

CUP ACTION AT THE LANE.

Cheshunt FC continue their Velocity Trophy campaign on Tuesday evening as they welcome Brentwood Town to Theobolds Lane.
The last time the sides met was in March of this year, as Cheshunt ran out 2-0 winners in the league.
Chesunt head into this game on a five-game unbeaten run that has seen victories over Molesey (1-0), Aveley (4-0), Tooting & Mitcham United (3-0) and Kings Langley (2-1), whilst Cheshunt drew with Marlow (0-0). That win over Aveley saw Cheshunt progress to this stage of the Velocity trophy, the same stage they reached last time out when Enfield got the better of the Ambers. Cheshunt have a lengthy injury list with Bobby Mason, Jason Hallett, Kyle Roberts, Emile Aiken, David Ompreon, Jack Lampe and John Silva all out injured. Samuel Kifwasima and Ali Cheranti are doubts due to illness, whilst George Casey, Ricky Sappleton, Harry Girling and new signing Bradley Wood-Garness will all face fitness tests.
Brentwood Town have had a difficult start to the 2018/19 season, sitting in 16th place in the Bostik League North Division. However, Brentwood have been difficult to beat in recent times with just one defeat in their last eight games. That defeat came to Heybridge Swifts (3-1), whilst Town have beaten Soham Town Rangers (4-1), Marlow (4-1) and Whitstable Town (3-1). Draws have come against Barking (2-2), Canvey Island (2-2), Coggeshall Town (1-1) and Basildon United (1-1). Brentwood reached the second round after a penalty shootout victory following their 2-2 draw with Barking. They have no apparent injury concerns.
Tomorrow’s game takes place at the Cheshunt Stadium, postcode EN8 8RU. Kick-off is 7.45pm and admission prices are just £10 adults, £5 concessions and £1 U16s. Come on you Ambers!
