ANOTHER AWAYDAY IN SURRY.
Cheshunt will be looking to carry forward their momentum from Tuesday night as they travel to the struggling Egham Town on Saturday.
Cheshunt defeated second placed Bracknell Town 2-0 on Tuesday to end a run of four games without a win and move up to third.
That winless run had seen the Ambers fall to Hanwell Town (3-1) and Whitstable Town (4-3), whilst drawing with Chalfont St Peter (1-1) and Chipstead (3-3).
With his brace on Tuesday Olu Akinsanya made it five goals in three games in all competitions, and nine league goals on the season, just one behind the leaders.
Samuel Kifwasima, Yvan Jourdan, Jason Hallett, Jack Lampe, David Ompreon, Emiel Aiken and Kyle Roberts all remain sidelined, however Hallett, Aiken and Jourdan could return in Cheshunt’s next league game on the 8th December.
Craig Edwards will also welcome a new signing to the fray in Yannick Kamanan who played under him at Ware last season, and who he described as a “Prolific marksman and scorer of many spectacular goals”. However, Toby Aromolaran has left the club due to his travel time.
Ahead of the game, Cheshunt Manager Edwards commented, “It’s going to be important to keep our momentum going, I can’t wait for the game.
“This game will present different challenges to us and I’m sure the boys are relishing it.”
Egham Town have endured a difficult start to the season that sees them lie 19th in the division, with just five points from their 13 games.
Egham’s sole league victory came on the 27th August in just the third game of the season, as they defeated Westfield 2-1.
Since then, the Sarnies have gone 10 league games without victory, however they will enter this game on a high following a 2-1 victory over Virginia Water in the Surrey County Cup this week.
Egham will be without both Lewis Hobbs and Josh Andrew who left the club this week to Potters Bar Town and Harrow Borough respectively.
They have no apparent injury concerns.
Saturday’s game takes place at the Runnymede Stadium, postcode TW20 8XD. Kick off is at 3pm, and admission prices are TBC. Come on you Ambers!Back +
