LET BATTLE COMMENCE.
Cheshunt will be looking to strengthen their hold on a play-off spot this weekend as they welcome Egham Town to Theobalds Lane.
When the Ambers travelled to the Runnymede Stadium in November, they left emptyhanded as a 90th minute winner from Ryan Hill helped the Sarnies to a 2-1 victory.
Cheshunt head into this game in fine form, with just one defeat in their last six games.
The sole defeat came to Marlow (4-0), whilst Craig Edwards’ side have defeated Stevenage (2-1), Waltham Abbey (2-1), Chalfont St Peter (2-0), Hanwell Town (4-2) and Chipstead (1-0).
On the injury front, Ashley Nzala, Brian Moses and Anthony Sinclair-Furlonge are doubtful, alongside Ibrahim Conte, David Ompreon, Henry Musaj and Asher Silverman who have long-term injuries. Al-Hafeez Sanusi serves the second of a six-game suspension, whilst Jason Hallett begins a three-game suspension.
Ahead of the game, Cheshunt Manager Craig Edwards said: “Egham have gone out and signed some really big players which has surprised me a little bit, so it looks like it’ll be a different type of game.
“We have a few players missing, but I don’t care how many players we lose, we’ll still put a strong side out and we’ll be fighting to win the three points.”
Egham Town continue to struggle at the bottom of the table, 10 points adrift of second-bottom Molesey.
The Sarnies have won just two games this season, one of which was against the Ambers, however they have lost all of their 15 games on the road.
In fact, Egham haven’t won since they defeated the Ambers, going winless in their last 15 games in all competitions.
However, Simon Lane’s side enter this game after picking up a confidence boosting point in a 2-2 draw with Hertford Town last weekend.
They have no apparent injury concerns.
Saturday’s game against Egham takes place at Theobalds Lane, postcode EN8 8RU . Kick-off is 3pm and admission prices are just £10 adults, £5 concessions and £1 U16s. Come on you Ambers!
