Cheshunt welcome local rivals Enfield Town to Theobalds Lane this weekend looking to continue a recent upturn in form.

When the Ambers travelled to the Queen Elizabeth II Stadium back in October, it was the hosts who ran out 2-1 winners as Muhammadu Faal, who has recently signed for Bolton Wanderers, struck a brace.

Cheshunt have a 100% record this decade having won three consecutive games for the first time this season, with victories over Kingstonian (3-1), Barking (2-1) and Wingate & Finchley (2-1).

That run has seen Craig Edwards’ side move up to 18th in the division, five points clear of the relegation zone with three games in hand on 20th place Merstham.

On the injury front, Amadou Kassarate is set to miss out, whilst long-term absentees Ashley Nzala and Fabion Simms returned to training this week, although are a number of weeks away from returning to match action.

Enfield Town had a difficult run of five games without a win in the lead up to Christmas, and have been inconsistent in their six games since then with three wins, two defeats and a draw.

Town head into the A10 Classico in seventh place in the Isthmian Premier Division, three points off the play-off places, following a 2-2 draw with struggling Brightlingsea Regent last time out.

Andy Leese’s side have no apparent injury concerns.

This game also marks a significant milestone for our neighbours who will celebrate the 1000th game in their history, having come a long way since they played a number of games at Theobalds Lane in their earlier days.

Saturday’s game takes place at the Stadium, Theobalds Lane, postcode EN8 8RU. Kick-off is 3pm, and admission prices are just £10 adults, £5 concessions and £1 U16s. COYAMBERS.
