Cheshunt FC will be looking to return to winning ways as they face the tough task of travelling to league leaders Hayes & Yeading United.

When the sides met on the opening day of the season they were forced to settle for a share of the spoils, as Hayes & Yeading fought back from 3-1 down with 10 minutes to go to draw 3-3.

Cheshunt had gone nine games without defeat before Tuesday’s 3-2 defeat at home to FC Romania, which also signalled their first defeat at Theobalds Lane this season.
The nine-game unbeaten run saw the Ambers defeat Hadley (2-2) on penalties, Uxbridge (2-0), Ware (1-0), Northwood (2-1), Ashford Town (1-0) and Molesey (2-0). Draws came against Bedfonr Sports (2-2), Hetford Town (2-2) and Bracknell Town (1-1).

Cheshunt’s lengthy injury list sees Jason Hallett, Ibrahim Conte, Bobby Mason, David Ompreon, Henry Musaj and Asher Silverman all sidelined, whilst Harry Girling is recovering from a bout of flu.

Ahead of the game, Craig Edwards said: “We’ve got to again and start another run now.

“No one’s going to give us a chance and against Hayes, they’ve been smashing in goals left, right and centre.

“This game will tell me a lot about these boys, what sort of character they’ve got and what they’re about.”

Hayes & Yeading United are flying high in the Bostik South Central division, sitting 12 points clear of second place, with 97 goals scored in 24 games.

United have a 100% home record in the league winning 11 out of 11 games, and Paul Hughes’ side are also unbeaten in their last 11 games.

The league leaders haven’t lost in the league in 13 games, a run that dates back to Saturday 17th November, whilst last time out they defeated Northwood 2-1.

They have no apparent injury concerns.

Saturday’s game takes place at the SKYex Community Stadium, postcode UB4 0SL. Kick off is 3pm and admission prices are £10 adults, £6 concessions and £3 U16s. Come on you Ambers!
