ON THE ROAD IN SEARCH OF THREE POINTS.
A run of three consecutive away games begins for Cheshunt on Tuesday evening with the trip to Hornchurch.
After a bright start to the year that saw three straight wins, the Ambers’ form has taken a dip and it is now four league games without a win.
That run has seen a draw with Bowers & Pitsea (1-1), and defeats to Enfield Town (3-2), Worthing (2-0) and Leatherhead (3-1) which leaves Cheshunt 20th in the division and in the relegation zone.
Taylor Miles returns to the squad after missing Saturday’s defeat to Leatherhead through suspension, whilst Mark Hughes will serve the second of his four-match suspension.
Shane Cojocarel misses out through injury, whilst Ash Nzala is around two weeks away from a return to fitness, and Fabion Simms is likely a month away.
Ahead of the game, Cheshunt Manager Craig Edwards said: “If we can perform like we did for 80 minutes against Worthing we’ll give them (Hornchurch) a tough game.
“But if we perform like we did against Leatherhead the referee will have to stop the contest because they’ll batter us!
“The boys that play on Tuesday, if nothing else need to give every ounce they’ve got.”
Hornchurch have been inconsistent of late in their push for promotion, winning two, drawing two and losing two of their last six games.
However, Saturday saw an emphatic return to winning ways as Enfield Town were dispatched 4-0 with the Urchins moving up to fourth in the division.
On the injury front Ricky Hayles is set to miss out, however his absence was softened by the return of Mickey Parcell from suspension in Hornchurch’s victory over Enfield.
Tuesday’s game takes place at the Hornchurch Stadium, postcode RM14 2LX. Kick-off is 7.45pm and admission prices are £12 adults, £7 concessions, £3 12-16s and free for U12s.
