LEATHERHEAD FC - SATURDAY 5th OCTOBER 2019
Cheshunt will be looking to make it two wins in a row this weekend, as the Ambers make the trip to Leatherhead.
A run of just one victory in six league games came to an end on Tuesday evening, as a 1-0 victory over Wingate & Finchley saw Cheshunt move up to 14th in the Isthmian Premier Division.
Fabion Simms, Ash Nzala, Shane Cojocarel, Sammy Collins and Tre Charles are joined on the injury list by Sammy Collins and Toyosi Olusanya, whilst Mark Hughes and Mo Camara both miss out through suspension.
On a positive note, Freddy Moncur’s loan from Concord Rangers has been extended, Daniel Akindayini has been recalled from Great Wakering Rovers, and Hafeez Sanusi has re-joined the club.
The Ambers have also acquired the services of Ruben Carvalho, but are awaiting international clearance.
Ahead of the game, Cheshunt Manager Craig Edwards said: “I think Hughesy (Mark Hughes) would have missed out anyway with his injury, so if he’s going to get an injury, I suppose that’s as good a time as any.
“Mo (Camara) will be a big loss, but I thought today (Tuesday) he had his poorest game of the season, so once again it might not do him any harm having a rest for a week.
“It’ll give the other boys opportunities, and all I want them to do is make it really, really difficult for me to leave them out.”
Leatherhead have had a difficult start to the new season, and sit 20th in the division having picked up just six points from their opening nine games.
The Tanners have won just one game all season, a 1-0 victory over Bowers & Pitsea last weekend, however they head into this weekend following a 5-1 defeat to Bognor Regis Town on Tuesday evening.
Only Bishop’s Stortford have conceded more goals than Leatherhead so far this season, with Nikki Bull’s side having conceded 22 goals.
Bull will be able to call on the services of Crossley Lema who joined the club on loan from Sutton United last week. They have no apparent injury concerns.
Saturday’s game takes place at Fetcham Grove, postcode KT22 9AS, and kick-off is 3pm. Come on you Ambers.
