ON THE ROAD WITH THE AMBERS.
Marlow FC and Cheshunt FC will be hoping that the weather clears as the promotion contenders prepare to do battle at Oak Tree Road.
When the sides met at Theobalds Lane earlier in the season, they were forced to settle for a share of the spoils following a 0-0 draw, Marlow showing why they have the best defence in the league.
However, Cheshunt will have momentum on their side as they will be looking to make it 10 games without defeat should they get a result tomorrow.
During their nine-game unbeaten run the Ambers have beaten Uxbridge (2-0), Ware (1-0), Northwood (2-1), Ashford Town (1-0) and Molesey (2-0), whilst drawing with Hadley (2-2), Bedfont Sports (2-2), Hertford Town (2-2) and Bracknell Town (1-1).
Cheshunt continue to have a lengthy injury list as Jason Hallett and Ibrahim Conte join Bobby Mason, David Ompreon, Henry Musaj and Asher Silverman on the side-line. Patrick Adamson is recovering from a bout of flu, whilst Kyle Roberts and Emiel Aiken could return to the matchday squad.
Ahead of the game, Cheshunt Manager Craig Edwards said: “How we’ve been in the 23 games so far, I think we’ll be better against Marlow than we were against Molesey.
“I thought we were reasonably good against Bracknell, and generally against the better teams we perform better, and we haven’t lost to any of the top five this season.”
Second-place Marlow have bounced back from a difficult December in which they won just one game, and have now lost just one of their last five games, a 1-0 loss to Westfield.
During that run the Blues have defeated Northwood (3-0), South Park (2-1), Bedfont Sports (1-0) and Hanwell Town (6-0).
Marlow sit one point ahead of Cheshunt, in no small part thanks to their defence which has conceded just 19 goals in 23 games.
They have no apparent injury concerns.
Tomorrow’s game takes place Oak Tree Road, postcode SL7 3ED. Kick-off is 3pm and admission prices are just £8 adults and £4 concessions.
There will be a pitch inspection at 10am on Saturday morning, so please keep an eye out on social media for further updates.
