MATCH PREVIEW: TOOTING & MITCHUM UNITED FC

22 Mar 2019

Play-off places at stake at Imperial Fields.

Cheshunt FC will be looking to continue the excellent recent form as we make the trip to playoff contenders Tooting & Mitcham United.

When the Terrors visited Theobalds Lane earlier in the season they left emptyhanded, as the Ambers emerged with a 3-0 victory.

Fourth-place Cheshunt head into this game on the back of three consecutive wins, with victories over Hanwell Town (4-2), Chipstead (1-0) and Egham Town (3-0).

Al-Hafeez Sanusi, Jason Hallett, Ashley Nzala and Dave Kendall will miss out along with long-term absentees Ibrahim Conte, David Ompreon, Henry Musaj and Asher Silverman. Shane Cojocarel is a doubt whilst Anthony Sinclair-Furlonge is set to return from injury.

Ahead of the game, Cheshunt Manager Craig Edwards said: “When you get to this stage of the season and you’ve done well all season, like we have, every game is a big game.

“We’re expecting a tough game with Tooting, we put in a very good performance at home against them, and we’ll go over there full of confidence and hopefully with a couple of players back.”

Tooting & Mitcham United head into tomorrow’s game following a confidence boosting 3-2 win over Molesey, which ended a run of three games without a win and just one win in six.

The Terrors currently sit seventh in the division, six points adrift of the playoffs, and with just seven games remaining cannot afford to drop any more points if they hope to make the post-season.

Ashley Bosah’s side have struggled at home this season, with 29 of their 51 points this season coming away from Imperial Fields.

They have no apparent injury concerns.

Saturday’s game takes place at Imperial Fields, postcode SM4 6BF. Kick-off is 3pm and admission prices are £10 adults, £5 concessions and £1 U16s. Come on you Ambers.
