MATCH REPORT: CHESHUNT FC 0-1 HARINGEY BOROUGH FC

17 Aug 2019

THE BORO COME OUT ON TOP IN DERBY WEEKEND

Unbeaten Haringey Borough started quickly and had the better of the opening exchanges, generating two clear cut chances that ended high & wide. One on one battles were fought across the pitch Onokwai keeping McKenzie busy, Hallett tying up Coby Rowe at the other end and the central midfielders constantly busy. The home side settled and forced multiple corners but failed to test Pajetet in the Boro goal, despite getting on top for the remainder of the first half and playing most of the game in the Boro half.

More of the same in the second half, with Ibs Diallo outstanding for the home side and his opposite number Richards organising the away defence well. Cheshunt’s first shot to trouble Pajetet came when Sam Collins turned inside and blasted a shot the keeper could only get his arms up to protect himself and the ball ricocheted off keeper and post to safety. The same player then curled a pass into Hallett whose run to the by line produced a low cross Hitchcock couldn’t connect with due to the attentions of the Boro defence. That Ambers on top then paid the penalty for a sloppy corner swung too deep and too wide, Haringey defended easily and set Onokwai clear one on one , his low shot across Girling gave the keeper no chance and proved the winner as Haringey closed out the match.
