Cheshunt V Molelesy Match Report
Craig Edward’s men came back to Theobalds Lane on the back of a hard fought 1-1 draw away at Bracknell Town making it 8 games in a row unbeaten in the league for the Ambers. Edwards made two changes, with Ibrahima Conte earning his first Ambers start in place of Yvan Jourdan, and Mark Hughes returning to the side in place of Nicky Symons after his three-game suspension.
The hosts were very quick out the blocks, with Brian Moses looking lively early on breaking through the Molesey defence. The tricky winger Jordan Westcott was causing havoc from the start, whipping a teasing effort wide of the Molesey goal. The visitors did threaten on the attack, with Ashby Charles impressing at the back, and Nathan Wood being the main creative spark for the visitors. Alex Kozakis, the visiting goalkeeper was called into action after Brian Moses was threaded through by Joe Re, but the striker was denied his first goal for the club by the outstretched leg of Kozakis. Then two injury enforced substitutes for the Ambers rocked the game to a halt, Ibrahima Conte and Jason Hallett both received lengthy treatment, before being replaced by Connor Peters and Hafeez Sanusi respectively. Sanusi was straight into the action, he was threaded through by Adamson and he made no mistake in slotting the ball past the keeper, for his first league goal for the club, and finally break the stubborn Molesey resistance. 1-0 after 36 minutes. The Ambers had the final chance of the half as Mark Hughes tried to catch Kozakis off his line, but his effort looped just wide.
Half Time – Cheshunt 1-0 Molesey

The Ambers got the second half underway and got the best start possible. Some strong battling from Moses won a corner, and Westcott delivered another quality set piece, and as the ball was bobbling around, in strode Dave Kendall to slide the ball home to give the Ambers a 2-goal cushion on 47 minutes. The second half moved on with not many other chances for either side. Some terrific play between Westcott and Connor Hogan, seeing the former deliver an excellent cross but Moses on the stretch couldn’t quite get to the ball. The big forward was thwarted again by Kozakis, after his low effort was saved again by an outstretched leg. That was the strikers last contribution of the evening, as he was replaced by Yvan Jourdan with 5 minutes remaining. The rest of the game was rather uneventful, and a 2-0 win for the Ambers was confirmed by the referee’s whistle.
