Match Reports: Canvey and Haringey

29 Aug 2017

Canvey and Haringey snatch points over bank holiday weekend.

Canvey Island snatched a dramatic equaliser in the 96th minute on Saturday as they shared a six goal thriller with the Ambers. Cheshunt went behind early to a George Sykes goal but held on to start the second half like lions. By the 70th minute the Ambers were 3-1 up thanks to goals by Hallett, Cheema and Summers. James Walker smashed home a consolation with nine minutes to go to give the visitors hope. And Ashley Dumas was able to level late on.

Haringey Borough went one better on bank holiday Monday, Ramii Sheriff netting in the last minute to give the hosts a deserved victory. Summers had given the Ambers the lead in the 12th minute, smashing home from Hallett’s flick. Michael O’Donoghue levelled for Harringey before the break, before the hosts took the lead in 78th from a debatable Gabriel Ralston penalty. Hallett looked to have secured a point for the Ambers in the 85th minute, slotting home on the break. However Sheriff had other ideas, netting in injury time.
