Jacob Gardiner Smith joined Cheshunt in August 2022, and has plenty of step 2 experience, having been with St Albans City & Hemel Hempstead, and played for Braintree Town while on loan from Wycombe Wanderers. Gardiner Smith started his career as a 16 year old in the CSKA Moscow youth organisation, before signing for Zenit St Petersburg after impressing in trials. In order to play in Russia he needed to undergo Russian immigration tests, and as a result reads & speaks fluent Russian.
